The Delaunay filtration ๐_โ(X) of a point cloud Xโโแต is a central tool of computational topology. Its use is justified by the topological equivalence of ๐_โ(X) and the offset (i.e., union-of-balls) filtration of X. Given a function ฮณ: X โโ, we introduce a Delaunay bifiltration ๐๐_โ(ฮณ) that satisfies an analogous topological equivalence, ensuring that ๐๐_โ(ฮณ) topologically encodes the offset filtrations of all sublevel sets of ฮณ, as well as the topological relations between them. ๐๐_โ(ฮณ) is of size O(|X|^(โ(d+1)/2โ)), which for d odd matches the worst-case size of ๐_โ(X). Adapting the Bowyer-Watson algorithm for computing Delaunay triangulations, we give a simple, practical algorithm to compute ๐๐_โ(ฮณ) in time O(|X|^(โd/2โ+1)). Our implementation, based on CGAL, computes ๐๐_โ(ฮณ) with modest overhead compared to computing ๐_โ(X), and handles tens of thousands of points in โยณ within seconds.
