Based on isolated sounds taken from the FSD50k dataset, 20,000 polyphonic soundscapes are synthesized with sounds being randomly positioned in the stereo panorama using different loudness levels. The paper gives a detailed discussion of possible application scenarios, explains the dataset generation process in detail, and discusses current limitations of the proposed USM-SED dataset.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2105.02592v1","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2105.02592v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"dataset-generation","task_name":"Dataset Generation"},{"task_slug":"event-detection","task_name":"Event Detection"},{"task_slug":"sound-event-detection","task_name":"Sound Event Detection"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[{"slug":"usm-sed","name":"USM-SED","full_name":""}],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"syntology_url":null,"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
