Computer vision-based algorithms in particular, are commonly used for fruit segmentation, enabling in-depth analysis of the harvest quality and accurate yield estimation. In this paper, we propose TomatoDIFF, a novel diffusion-based model for semantic segmentation of on-plant tomatoes. When evaluated against other competitive methods, our model demonstrates state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance, even in challenging environments with highly occluded fruits. Additionally, we introduce Tomatopia, a new, large and challenging dataset of greenhouse tomatoes. The dataset comprises high-resolution RGB-D images and pixel-level annotations of the fruits.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2307.01064v1","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2307.01064v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"tomatodiff-on-plant-tomato-segmentation-with","repo_url":"https://github.com/mivanovska/tomatodiff","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":0,"framework":"pytorch","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"denoising","task_name":"Denoising"},{"task_slug":"segmentation","task_name":"Segmentation"},{"task_slug":"semantic-segmentation","task_name":"Semantic Segmentation"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"syntology_url":null,"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
