Numerous proposed methods exist in the literature, but it is\ndifficult for practitioners to apply them -- most proposed synthesis methods\nlack ready-to-use software implementations, and existing proprietary components\nare too rigid to extend to general systems. To address this gap, we develop\nSLSpy, a framework for controller synthesis, comparison, and testing.\n  SLSpy implements a highly extensible software framework which provides two\nessential workflows: synthesis and simulation. The workflows are built from\nfive conceptual components that can be customized to implement a wide variety\nof synthesis algorithms and disturbance tests. SLSpy comes pre-equipped with a\nworkflow for System Level Synthesis (SLS), which enables users to easily and\nfreely specify desired design objectives and constraints. We demonstrate the\neffectiveness of SLSpy using two examples that have been described in the\nliterature but do not have ready-to-use implementations. We open-source SLSpy\nto facilitate future controller synthesis research and practical usage.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/2004.12565v3","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/2004.12565v3.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"slspy-python-based-system-level-controller","repo_url":"https://github.com/shih-hao-tseng/SLSpy","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null},{"paper_slug":"slspy-python-based-system-level-controller","repo_url":"https://github.com/sls-caltech/sls-code","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null},{"paper_slug":"slspy-python-based-system-level-controller","repo_url":"https://github.com/unstable-zeros/robust-sls","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
