Addressing the challenge of limited measurements per time point, we propose a technique that synergistically incorporates spatial and temporal information of the dynamic objects. This is achieved through the application of the level-set method for image segmentation and the representation of motion via a sinusoidal basis. The result is a computationally efficient and easily optimizable variational framework that enables the reconstruction of high-quality 2D or 3D image sequences with a single projection per frame. Compared to current methods, our proposed approach demonstrates superior performance on both synthetic and pseudo-dynamic real X-ray tomography datasets. The implications of this research extend to improved visualization and analysis of dynamic processes in tomographic imaging, finding potential applications in diverse scientific and industrial domains.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2311.05269v1","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2311.05269v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"single-shot-tomography-of-discrete-dynamic","repo_url":"https://github.com/ajinkyakadu/DynamicXRayCT","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"computed-tomography-ct","task_name":"Computed Tomography (CT)"},{"task_slug":"dynamic-reconstruction","task_name":"Dynamic Reconstruction"},{"task_slug":"image-segmentation","task_name":"Image Segmentation"},{"task_slug":"semantic-segmentation","task_name":"Semantic Segmentation"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
