Spectral properties of the superoperator Phi associated with a given quantum map are investigated and a quantum analogue of the Frobenius-Perron theorem is proved. We derive a general formula for the density of eigenvalues of Phi and show the connection with the Ginibre ensemble of real non-symmetric random matrices. Numerical investigations of the spectral gap imply that a generic state of the system iterated several times by a fixed generic map converges exponentially to an invariant state.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/0804.2361v2","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/0804.2361v2.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"links_only","authors_date_abstract":"arXiv metadata, CC0 1.0 (https://info.arxiv.org/help/license), from the Kaggle arXiv metadata snapshot of 2026-09-12"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"random-quantum-operations","repo_url":"https://github.com/BBN-Q/RandomQuantum.jl","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":{"status":"ok","spdx":"NOASSERTION"}},{"paper_slug":"random-quantum-operations","repo_url":"https://github.com/UnofficialJuliaMirror/RandomQuantum.jl-7779672a-5d86-5706-9bd0-ace5ecbc1638","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":{"status":"ok","spdx":"NOASSERTION"}},{"paper_slug":"random-quantum-operations","repo_url":"https://github.com/UnofficialJuliaMirrorSnapshots/RandomQuantum.jl-7779672a-5d86-5706-9bd0-ace5ecbc1638","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":{"status":"ok","spdx":"NOASSERTION"}}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"syntology_url":null,"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
