Conventionally, spectral\ncomponents are reconstructed by taking measurements at the focal planes.\nHowever, the reconstruction quality can be improved by optimizing the\nmeasurement configuration. In this work, we adapt a sequential backward\nselection algorithm to search for a configuration which minimizes expected\nreconstruction error. By approximating the forward system as a circular\nconvolution and making assumptions on the source and noise, we greatly reduce\nthe complexity of the algorithm. Numerical results show that the configuration\nfound by the algorithm significantly improves the reconstruction performance\ncompared to a standard configuration.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/2005.11877v1","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/2005.11877v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"optimal-measurement-configuration-in","repo_url":"https://github.com/uiuc-sine/mas","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":0,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
