Crossbar architectures constructed using these Resistive Random-Access Memory (RRAM) devices can be used to efficiently implement various in-memory computing operations, such as Multiply Accumulate (MAC) and unrolled-convolutions, which are used extensively in Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). However, memristive devices face concerns of aging and non-idealities, which limit the accuracy, reliability, and robustness of Memristive Deep Learning Systems (MDLSs), that should be considered prior to circuit-level realization. This Original Software Publication (OSP) presents MemTorch, an open-source framework for customized large-scale memristive DL simulations, with a refined focus on the co-simulation of device non-idealities. MemTorch also facilitates co-modelling of key crossbar peripheral circuitry. MemTorch adopts a modernized soft-ware engineering methodology and integrates directly with the well-known PyTorch Machine Learning (ML) library","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2004.10971v4","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2004.10971v4.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"links_only","authors_date_abstract":"arXiv metadata, CC0 1.0 (https://info.arxiv.org/help/license), from the Kaggle arXiv metadata snapshot of 2026-09-12"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"memtorch-an-open-source-simulation-framework","repo_url":"https://github.com/coreylammie/MemTorch","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"pytorch","reach":{"status":"ok","spdx":"GPL-3.0"}}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":"https://app.syntology.ai/?focus=2004.10971","mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
