Particularly, using LLMs for complex reasoning tasks on knowledge graphs (KGs) remains largely untouched. To address this, we propose KG-GPT, a multi-purpose framework leveraging LLMs for tasks employing KGs. KG-GPT comprises three steps: Sentence Segmentation, Graph Retrieval, and Inference, each aimed at partitioning sentences, retrieving relevant graph components, and deriving logical conclusions, respectively. We evaluate KG-GPT using KG-based fact verification and KGQA benchmarks, with the model showing competitive and robust performance, even outperforming several fully-supervised models. Our work, therefore, marks a significant step in unifying structured and unstructured data processing within the realm of LLMs.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2310.11220v1","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2310.11220v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"kg-gpt-a-general-framework-for-reasoning-on","repo_url":"https://github.com/jiho283/kg-gpt","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":{"status":"ok"}}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"fact-verification","task_name":"Fact Verification"},{"task_slug":"knowledge-graphs","task_name":"Knowledge Graphs"},{"task_slug":"retrieval","task_name":"Retrieval"},{"task_slug":"sentence","task_name":"Sentence"},{"task_slug":"sentence-segmentation","task_name":"Sentence segmentation"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"syntology_url":"https://syntology.ai/paper/2310.11220","atlas_url":"https://app.syntology.ai/?focus=2310.11220","mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
