An important issue facing the OWA operators' users\nis the determination of the OWA weights. This paper introduces an OWA\ndetermination method based on truncated distributions that enables intuitive\ngeneration of OWA weights according to a certain level of risk and trade-off.\nThese two dimensions are represented by the two first moments of the truncated\ndistribution. We illustrate our approach with the well-know normal distribution\nand the definition of a continuous parabolic decision-strategy space. We\nfinally study the impact of the number of criteria on the results.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/1709.04328v2","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/1709.04328v2.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"generating-owa-weights-using-truncated","repo_url":"https://github.com/maximelenormand/OWA-weights-generator","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"decision-making","task_name":"Decision Making"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
