However, it is hard for existing methods to simultaneously capture the multiple relations during the evolution from skeleton to mesh, including joint-joint, joint-vertex and vertex-vertex relations, which often leads to implausible results. To address this issue, we propose a novel solution, called GATOR, that contains an encoder of Graph-Aware Transformer (GAT) and a decoder with Motion-Disentangled Regression (MDR) to explore these multiple relations. Specifically, GAT combines a GCN and a graph-aware self-attention in parallel to capture physical and hidden joint-joint relations. Furthermore, MDR models joint-vertex and vertex-vertex interactions to explore joint and vertex relations. Based on the clustering characteristics of vertex offset fields, MDR regresses the vertices by composing the predicted base motions. Extensive experiments show that GATOR achieves state-of-the-art performance on two challenging benchmarks.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2303.05652v1","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2303.05652v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"gator-graph-aware-transformer-with-motion","repo_url":"https://github.com/kasvii/gator","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"pytorch","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"3d-human-pose-estimation","task_name":"3D Human Pose Estimation"},{"task_slug":"decoder","task_name":"Decoder"},{"task_slug":"human-mesh-recovery","task_name":"Human Mesh Recovery"}],"methods":[{"method_slug":"absolute-position-encodings","method_name":"Absolute Position Encodings"},{"method_slug":"adam","method_name":"Adam"},{"method_slug":"attention","method_name":"Attention"},{"method_slug":"base","method_name":"BASE"},{"method_slug":"bpe","method_name":"BPE"},{"method_slug":"dense-connections","method_name":"Dense Connections"},{"method_slug":"dropout","method_name":"Dropout"},{"method_slug":"gat","method_name":"GAT"},{"method_slug":"gcn","method_name":"GCN"},{"method_slug":"label-smoothing","method_name":"Label Smoothing"},{"method_slug":"layer-normalization","method_name":"Layer Normalization"},{"method_slug":"linear-layer","method_name":"Linear Layer"},{"method_slug":"multi-head-attention","method_name":"Multi-Head Attention"},{"method_slug":"position-wise-feed-forward-layer","method_name":"Position-Wise Feed-Forward Layer"},{"method_slug":"residual-connection","method_name":"Residual Connection"},{"method_slug":"softmax","method_name":"Softmax"},{"method_slug":"transformer","method_name":"Transformer"}],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":"https://app.syntology.ai/?focus=2303.05652","mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
