However, it is time-consuming to acquire emotional audio corpus for arbitrary speakers due to their deduction ability. In response to this problem, this paper proposes a cross-speaker emotion transfer method that can realize the transfer of emotions from source speaker to target speaker. A set of emotion tokens is firstly defined to represent various categories of emotions. They are trained to be highly correlated with corresponding emotions for controllable synthesis by cross-entropy loss and semi-supervised training strategy. Meanwhile, to eliminate the down-gradation to the timbre similarity from cross-speaker emotion transfer, speaker condition layer normalization is implemented to model speaker characteristics. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the multi-reference based baseline in terms of timbre similarity, stability and emotion perceive evaluations.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2110.04153v2","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2110.04153v2.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"cross-speaker-emotion-transfer-based-on","repo_url":"https://github.com/keonlee9420/Cross-Speaker-Emotion-Transfer","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"pytorch","reach":{"status":"ok","spdx":"MIT"}}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"emotion-interpretation","task_name":"Emotion Interpretation"},{"task_slug":"expressive-speech-synthesis","task_name":"Expressive Speech Synthesis"},{"task_slug":"speech-synthesis","task_name":"Speech Synthesis"},{"task_slug":"text-to-speech","task_name":"Text to Speech"},{"task_slug":"text-to-speech-1","task_name":"text-to-speech"}],"methods":[{"method_slug":"layer-normalization","method_name":"Layer Normalization"}],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
