We compare two robust differential privacy mechanisms: Local-DP and DP-SGD and benchmark their performance when analyzing medical imagery records. We analyze the trade-off between the model's accuracy and the level of privacy it guarantees, and also take a closer look to evaluate how useful these theoretical privacy guarantees actually prove to be in the real world medical setting.","url_abs":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2005.13099v5","url_pdf":"https://arxiv.org/pdf/2005.13099v5.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"benchmarking-differentially-private-residual","repo_url":"https://github.com/sahibsin/DP_DeepLearning_Pneumonia","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"pytorch","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"benchmarking","task_name":"Benchmarking"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
