Existing implementations of\nmulti-agent epistemic planning are based on compilation into classical planning\nand suffer from various limitations, such as generating only linear plans,\nrestriction to public actions, and incapability to handle disjunctive beliefs.\nIn this paper, we propose a general representation language for multi-agent\nepistemic planning where the initial KB and the goal, the preconditions and\neffects of actions can be arbitrary multi-agent epistemic formulas, and the\nsolution is an action tree branching on sensing results. To support efficient\nreasoning in the multi-agent KD45 logic, we make use of a normal form called\nalternating cover disjunctive formulas (ACDFs). We propose basic revision and\nupdate algorithms for ACDFs. We also handle static propositional common\nknowledge, which we call constraints. Based on our reasoning, revision and\nupdate algorithms, adapting the PrAO algorithm for contingent planning from the\nliterature, we implemented a multi-agent epistemic planner called MEPK. Our\nexperimental results show the viability of our approach.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/1806.11298v2","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/1806.11298v2.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"a-general-multi-agent-epistemic-planner-based","repo_url":"https://github.com/sysulic/MEPK","is_official":1,"mentioned_in_paper":1,"mentioned_in_github":0,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
