This allows constraining the extraction of the horizontal vanishing points on that line, thus reducing false detections. Experiments made on three datasets show that our method, not only achieves state-of-the-art performance w.r.t. horizon line detection on two datasets, but also yields much less spurious vanishing points than the previous top-ranked methods.","url_abs":"http://openaccess.thecvf.com/content_ECCV_2018/html/Gilles_Simon_A_Contrario_Horizon-First_ECCV_2018_paper.html","url_pdf":"http://openaccess.thecvf.com/content_ECCV_2018/papers/Gilles_Simon_A_Contrario_Horizon-First_ECCV_2018_paper.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"a-contrario-horizon-first-vanishing-point","repo_url":"https://github.com/alexvonduar/V","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":0,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[{"task_slug":"horizon-line-estimation","task_name":"Horizon Line Estimation"},{"task_slug":"line-detection","task_name":"Line Detection"}],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[{"leaderboard":"/sota/horizon-line-estimation-on-eurasian-cities","task":"Horizon Line Estimation","dataset":"Eurasian Cities Dataset","model":"V","rank_in_archive_order":1,"of":4,"metrics":{"AUC (horizon error)":"91.10"},"uses_additional_data":false},{"leaderboard":"/sota/horizon-line-estimation-on-horizon-lines-in","task":"Horizon Line Estimation","dataset":"Horizon Lines in the Wild","model":"V","rank_in_archive_order":5,"of":5,"metrics":{"AUC (horizon error)":"54.43"},"uses_additional_data":false},{"leaderboard":"/sota/horizon-line-estimation-on-york-urban-dataset","task":"Horizon Line Estimation","dataset":"York Urban Dataset","model":"V","rank_in_archive_order":1,"of":4,"metrics":{"AUC (horizon error)":"95.35"},"uses_additional_data":false}],"syntology":{"syntology_url":null,"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
