The developed framework\nallows to deduce the remaining physical parameters that are mass, radius and\nluminosity. This new technique is applied to the first 10 pc, the first 50 pc,\nthe Hyades and to the determination of the distance of a cluster. The case of\nthe white dwarfs is analysed assuming the absence of calibrated data: our\nequation produces a smaller $\\chi^2$ in respect to the standard\ncolour-magnitude calibration when applied to the Villanova Catalog of\nSpectroscopically Identified White Dwarfs. The theoretical basis of the\nformulae for the colours and the bolometric correction of the stars are\nclarified through a Taylor expansion in the temperature of the Planck\ndistribution.","url_abs":"http://arxiv.org/abs/0811.4524v1","url_pdf":"http://arxiv.org/pdf/0811.4524v1.pdf","source":{"archive":"pwc-archive (Hugging Face), CC BY-SA 4.0","snapshot":"2025-07-28","licence_url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/legalcode","row_kind":"abstracts"},"code_links":[{"paper_slug":"08114524","repo_url":"https://github.com/MichaelStroet/Programmeerproject2019","is_official":0,"mentioned_in_paper":0,"mentioned_in_github":1,"framework":"none","reach":null}],"tasks":[],"methods":[],"datasets_introduced":[],"methods_introduced":[],"results":[],"syntology":{"atlas_url":null,"mcp":null,"developers":"https://syntology.ai/developers"},"arxiv_metadata":null,"syntology_extracted_results":null}
